We've shipped a small change that can have a big impact on how your SMS campaigns behave.
Inside the SMS tool, you'll now see a new Global SMS toggle. It lets you decide whether your SMS campaign sends messages only within your account's country code or to all fans globally.
This setting is off by default.
When creating an SMS campaign, you can now:
International SMS rates vary widely by country, and sending globally can increase campaign costs quickly.
Rather than automatically expanding reach (and risking surprise charges), this setting puts the decision in your hands. Turn it on when international reach is intentional (aka for touring artists, international competitions, or highly global fanbases). Stay local when it isn't.
We strongly recommend using the Calculate reach button at the bottom of the SMS Planner before sending.
