The 2024 AFLW season came to a close at the end of last month, so we’re highlighting our favourite campaigns from across the league. We’re proud to have assisted all 18 teams in engaging their fans, collecting data, and enhancing their marketing efforts during the 2024 season! With hundreds of campaigns featuring excellent design, clever concepts, and great prizes, it was hard to narrow down our choices to just a few favourites.
In no specific order, let’s dive into our top five campaigns of the year!
North Melbourne Kangaroos
The Kangaroos preceded their Premiership win with countless creative campaigns throughout the season. This unique campaign asked fans to input their birthdays to find out which Roo they shared a zodiac sign with. They were then prompted to share their “hoROOscope” on social media with a graphic–sized perfectly for Instagram stories–and the chance to win a $50 gift card. This campaign featured great design and was a perfect way to gather data on the ages of their audience. Using the downloadable graphic to encourage fans to share their results on socials was a good way to naturally get more eyes on both the campaign and the team!
Collingwood FC
Collingwood gave fans the opportunity to win big with this sponsored campaign! This Personality Quiz asked three simple questions and gave one lucky winner the chance to win tickets, signed merch, and $100 worth of KFC for them and eleven of their friends (which is conveniently the number of herbs and spices their classic recipe features). Talk about low lift and high reward!
Adelaide Crows
The Crows put on this simple yet effective Poll campaign to let fans have a say on what music would play at their home games. Featuring a great design, hit songs from the 80s to now, and the chance to win gift cards and a signed guernsey as an incentive, this campaign killed several birds with one stone.
St Kilda FC
At the beginning of the season, our partners at St Kilda debuted an online rebrand featuring shades of pink and the tagline, “Welcome to your Saints AFLW era”. This Bundle served as a home base for their essential game day resources and showed off their new, cohesive branding.
Essendon FC
Who doesn’t love a good personality quiz? The team at Essendon FC created one that let fans know which Bomber they were most similar to based on their preferences. This was a great way to get fans to feel closer to the players, introduce debutants (aka rookies in North America), and increase player recognition and affinity amongst audiences.
