Thank you, Sinc: How TTG and Tradable Bits Celebrated the Career of a Soccer Legend With Fan-Generated Content

The Partner

TTG Canada is one of the premier strategic marketing agencies in the country, focusing on sports, culture, and entertainment. When Canadian soccer player Christine Sinclair announced her retirement from international play, they were responsible for hosting both her goodbye party and the launch of Girls With Goals, her charitable foundation supporting youth soccer players.

The Goal

Christine Sinclair is a soccer legend, currently holding the world record for highest number of international goals scored in both men's and women's soccer. The agency aimed to celebrate her career in a meaningful way, while keeping her devoted fans in the picture (literally).

The Campaign

TTG Canada partnered with Tradable Bits to launch “Thank you, Sinc” a collection of farewell messages and photos showing love, support, and gratitude for Canada’s favourite player.

Fans were prompted to submit their photos and messages leading up to Christine Sinclair’s retirement event - all of which were displayed throughout the night on screens, as part of a dynamic “Best of Sinc” mosaic and on a large jumbotron.

The Results

Fan voices in the room. “Thank you, Sinc” showed the power of UGC to mark the end of an athlete's career, bringing every fan into the building, even when they couldn’t physically be there.
