Auto email used to live in one place, SMS in another. If you wanted a fan to get an email and pick up loyalty points from the same action, you would have to set that up twice, in two places.
Automations fixes both.
What's new
An Automations page that lets you set triggers, establish rules and queue up to three actions.
What you need to know:
Triggers = what fires an automation. Ticket purchases, merch purchases, campaign activity, SMS replies, or scans.
Rules = how you narrow your trigger down. Event name, venue, price code, date, campaign, business, scan group, etc.
Actions = what happens when your automation fires. Send an email. Send an SMS. Assign points. Push a POS promo. Stack up to three actions off a single trigger, and they all fire from the same place.
Run once or run continuously
For all automations, you have two options:
1. Run Once for every fan. The fan gets this action one time only, no matter how often they hit the trigger.
2. Run continuously. Every time a fan meets the trigger threshold, the action fires.
So for example, a welcome email should be set to "once per fan" while points for every merch purchase should trigger all season long on every purchase.
Reporting that shows the whole flow
A new automations report shows total triggers, unique fans and a flow visualization from trigger through automation to channel.
