2024 AFL roundup: fan marketing highlights

With the season coming to a close at the end of the month, we’re celebrating the biggest fan marketing wins from the biggest sport in Australia! Tradable Bits is proud to collaborate with all 18 AFL teams throughout the pre-, regular, and post-seasons. Teams use our range of campaigns to engage their audience, collect data on fans, amplify their sponsors, and foster community involvement. Before we get into the best campaigns of the season though, let’s take a look at some numbers from the league as a whole.

With over a thousand campaigns to choose from, it was nearly impossible to pick just a few favourites. We divided our highlights into four categories: fan engagement, sponsorship, community, and data collection. Let’s dive into it!

Fan Engagement

Fans are at the heart of every team, so making sure they’re staying engaged, having fun, and feeling valued should be a top priority. Swipe through to see some of the best campaigns that put fans first this season. 

 

Sponsorship

One of the benefits of having a sponsor is the ability to give something of monetary value to fans. Though it can be difficult to seamlessly incorporate brands into strategy, our partners at the AFL have mastered the art of the sponsored campaign. Here are some of our favourite campaigns that benefited sponsors, teams, and fans all at once.

 

Community

Engaging the community is integral to building trust, giving back, and understanding your audience better. Let’s take a look at some of the campaigns that took care to prioritize community engagement this season. 

 

Data Collection
